Our Fire Department is located in Hot Springs County, at the mouth of the Wind
River Canyon in the heart of the Big Horn Basin. Thermopolis, Wyoming is
home to 3,001 residents. Our county covers 2,004 square miles and being the
only fire protection in our district, the 4,799 residents depend on our department
to respond to all haz-mat, wild-land, car accidents, and structure fires.
We have Mutual Aid agreements with our neighbors which allow us to work in conjunction with Fremont County, Washakie County, Park County, The Wind River Indian Reservation, as well as the State Forest Service, and the BLM.
We are staffed with volunteers who respond 24/7.
